NOTICE CONCERNING TRANSFERABILITY OF CREDITS
AND CREDENTIALS EARNED AT OUR INSTITUTION

The transferability of credits you earn at Truth Theological Seminary is at the complete discretion of an institution to which you may seek to transfer. Acceptance of the degree, diploma or certificate you earn at Truth Theological Seminary is also at the complete discretion of the institution to which you seek to transfer. If the credits, degree, diploma or certificate that you earn at this institution are not accepted at the institution to which you seek to transfer you may be required to repeat some or all of your coursework at that institution. For this reason you should make certain that your attendance at this institution will meet your educational goals. This may include contacting an institution to which you may seek to transfer after attending Truth Theological Seminary to determine if your credits, degree, diploma or certificate will transfer.

TRANSFER OF CREDITS

Applicants who have attended other accredited theological seminaries may be given credit for comparable courses being offered at Truth Theological Seminary. The total number of transfer credits allowed is different from program to program.

Transfer of credits into the M.A. in Biblical Studies & Master of Divinity Programs

  1. A maximum of 9-quarter units of graduate education earned at another approved or accredited graduate institution may be transferred into the M.A. or M.Div. Program. Special case may be considered, such as a student transferring from a Baptist theological seminary, since Truth Theological Seminary has accepted and adopted the faith and polity of Southern Baptist Convention; as a Baptist theological seminary, TTS will consider accepting all qualifying credits from other Baptist seminaries into the Master degree programs.
  2. All graduate work that is to be considered for transfer credit must have a minimum grade of B-.
  3. Students must submit official transcripts to Registrar’s Office for consideration.
  4. The review of previous course work will be done by the Academic Dean and the student will be notified of the outcome within 30 days after submission of all transcripts. The Academic Dean will review coursework to arrive at a decision. Students may be required to submit additional documentation and/or school catalogs from schools attended.
  5. Appropriate transfer of courses similar to those at TTS will be left to the decision of the Academic Dean.
  6. Approved institutions are those that have been either approved by the BPPE to offer degrees in California, approved by another State to offer degrees in those States, or are institutions that have been accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S.D.O.E. Students who attended institutions outside the U.S. may be asked to submit documentation of the institution’s approval along with a Catalog from the school or assessment done by an independent educational agency in order for TTS to determine if the degrees or units earned are equivalent.

Transfer of credits into the Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) Program

  1. A maximum of 12-quarter units of graduate doctoral education earned at another approved or accredited graduate institution may be transferred into the D.Min. Program.
  2. All graduate work that is to be considered for transfer must have a minimum grade of C for consideration.
  3. Students must submit official transcripts for consideration.
  4. The Academic Dean will make the review of previous course work and the final decision and the student will be notified within 30 days after submission of all transcripts. Students could be asked to submit additional documentation and/or school catalogs of school attended.
  5. All audits to be considered for transfer must be similar to those courses offered at TTS. Appropriate transfer will be left to the decision of the Academic Dean.
  6. Approved institutions are those that have been approved by the BPPE to offer degrees in California or approved by another state to offer degrees in those states or accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S.D.O.E. Students who attended institutions outside the U.S. will need to submit documentation of the institution’s approval along with a catalog from the school in order for TTS to determine if the degrees or units earned are equivalent to the courses and degrees offered through TTS or by other accredited institutions in the U.S.

Life Experience Credit

Credit for experiential learning is not recognized for reduction of credits required toward any program offered by this institution.
